The Medical Lead, Hospitalist NRGH is a key leadership position at Island Health, responsible for driving operational excellence and quality improvement in hospitalist services. As a co-leader, this role works collaboratively with the Executive Medical Director and other stakeholders to enhance teamwork, facilitate continuous quality improvement, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Leadership:**
- Co-lead activities to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among physicians and staff, promoting a shared vision for quality patient care.
- Develop and implement strategies to address professional medical practice issues, ensuring alignment with Island Health's policies and procedures.
- **Operations & Quality:**
- Design and implement processes to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement initiatives, focusing on service delivery excellence.
- Monitor team budget and performance, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Investigate team-related PSLS and PCQO events, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- **Change Management:**
- Act as a change management champion, supporting physicians and staff through organizational changes and ensuring a smooth transition to new processes and systems.
- **Informatics:**
- Lead team activities to leverage technology and data analytics to improve service delivery, working closely with the Quality Systems team to optimize electronic health records (EHR) usage.
- **Planning:**
- Assess and anticipate team resource needs, collaborating with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
**Requirements:**
This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Island Health's vision and values, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
