Laboratory Quality Control Supervisor

Overview

The Quality Control/Quality Assurance Lab Technician plays a vital role within the Holcim team. This position is essential for supporting our clients through innovative product development and providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to conduct laboratory analyses of hot mix asphalt and aggregates as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to laboratory operating procedures and safety protocols for all tasks and equipment
  • Prepare and sample hot mix asphalt, perform and document Marshall Analysis tests, and develop hot mix asphalt mix designs, including asphalt coring on compacted surfaces
  • Conduct aggregate testing, including grading and durability assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of results and observations, ensuring proper documentation in both physical and digital formats
  • Compile test results and input data into relevant files/databases, ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Maintain calibration and servicing records for laboratory equipment and processes as necessary
  • Uphold health and safety standards and maintain a clean working environment
  • Perform fieldwork as required
  • Execute monthly safety inspections and Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) to ensure adherence to Holcim standards
  • Provide support to the QC/QA Supervisor and Operations Manager

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Recent graduates from polytechnic or university programs are encouraged to consider this opportunity
  • Prior experience in laboratory or field testing of hot mix asphalt or aggregates is advantageous
  • This position requires physical stamina, including the handling and lifting of heavy materials such as aggregates and asphalt
