Job Summary
The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Theatre Professor to teach an interdisciplinary theatre course. The successful candidate will have a strong background in theatre and a passion for interdisciplinary practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach an intensive theatre course focused on interdisciplinary practice, exploring the intersection of theatre and other art forms.
- Develop and lead workshops and exercises that foster creativity and innovation in students.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students in the development of their artistic practice.
- Contribute to the development of the university's theatre program, including curriculum design and program evaluation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Theatre or a related field, with a strong background in interdisciplinary practice.
- At least 5 years of experience teaching theatre at the post-secondary level, or 5 years of professional experience in theatre or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary theatre trends and practices, both nationally and internationally.
- Fluency in French and English, with the ability to teach in both languages.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work intensively from August 19 to 30, 2024, with regular working hours from 8:30am to 11:50am and 1:00pm to 4:50pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8:30am to 11:20am and 1:00pm to 3:50pm on Fridays.
