Job Title: Theatre Career Management Instructor

This role involves teaching students the fundamental skills required to manage a professional career in theatre. The instructor will guide students in developing a career plan, managing legal and financial affairs, and writing successful applications for arts funding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive course on career management in theatre
  • Guide students in creating a career plan and managing legal and financial affairs
  • Teach students how to write successful applications for arts funding
  • Provide guidance on budget creation, collective agreement negotiation, and performer contracts
  • Share knowledge of tax rules for self-employed artists and grant writing
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Theatre studies or Professional Theatre School diploma
  • Five years of professional experience as the artistic or administrative director of a theatre company, festival, or educational organization
  • Teaching experience at the university or conservatory level
  • Thorough knowledge of career management and theatre industry
Additional Information:

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
