**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Manager to join our team at No Frills. As a key member of our store operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and store performance in the produce department.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Train and develop staff to provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Schedule and manage staff to meet business needs and ensure adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and ensure that staff are aware of and adhere to these policies.
  • Train and motivate staff to achieve sales goals and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Delegate and prioritize workload for staff to ensure efficient operation of the department.
  • Effectively merchandise and promote produce products to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
  • Recommend sales goals and strategies to improve store performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activities to ensure No Frills remains competitive.
  • Ensure the receiving, storing, and handling of produce products are done efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper product rotation to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Ensure pricing integrity and accuracy throughout the department.
  • Take ownership of store operations in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.

**Requirements:**

  • 1-3 years of management experience in a fresh department (produce, meat, deli, bakery) in a retail environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for a discount food store like No Frills, including low price image and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the produce department's impact on store performance, including merchandising, inventory management, and cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to manage people.
  • Ability to work with minimal functional direction and maintain a high level of autonomy.
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of the produce area, operations, and products.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the needs of the business.
