Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine repairs and maintenance tasks, assisting senior engineering staff as needed.
  • Addresses maintenance requests from various areas including guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas.
  • Maintains a daily log of complaints and ensures timely follow-up.
  • Completes tasks assigned through the maintenance management system.
  • Prepares for hotel events by performing minor setups.
  • Manages the light bulb replacement initiative efficiently.
  • Organizes and replenishes supplies and tools in designated storage areas.
  • Provides assistance to guests with their requests and inquiries.
  • Communicates the status of maintenance tasks to the dispatcher regularly.
  • Maintains cleanliness in the engineering workspace.
  • Follows up on maintenance requests as directed by the Chief Engineer or supervisor.
  • Engages in daily communication with the Chief Engineer or supervisor regarding maintenance assignments.
  • Ensures the hotel’s building systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Adheres to hotel standards while performing repairs in occupied areas.
  • Assists the Chief Engineer in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Reports any repair issues that arise during shifts to the Chief Engineer.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, fire safety, and communication systems.
  • Participates in inspections of floors and rooms with the Chief Engineer.
  • Monitors energy usage and waste management practices.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Utilizes tools safely and correctly.
  • Reviews daily assignments and prepares for tasks accordingly.
  • Familiarizes with hotel emergency procedures and responds appropriately during emergencies.
  • Promptly informs supervisors of significant issues or unusual occurrences.
  • Exhibits a polite and friendly demeanor towards guests, management, and colleagues.
  • Participates in hotel meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
  • Implements emergency procedures in line with hotel standards.
  • Adheres to safety regulations and hotel policies.
  • Practices recycling and sustainability whenever possible.
  • Stays updated with hotel policies and changes.
  • Follows uniform and grooming standards as per hotel guidelines.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned.

  • Adheres to uniform and grooming standards.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Preferred background in engineering or maintenance.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Familiarity with basic tools and equipment, including electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong customer service orientation and hospitality skills.

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.

Experience

  • At least two years of experience in general maintenance is required.
