About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Aquaculture Support Worker to join our team at Macs Oysters Ltd. As an Aquaculture Support Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our aquaculture equipment and marine plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Sanitize Equipment: Clean, sanitize, and dry aquaculture equipment before the next use to prevent the introduction of pathogens and disease.
  • Maintain Equipment: Maintain aquaculture equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate aquaculture equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Report Stock Irregularities: Report any stock irregularities to supervisors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Cull and Tag Stocks: Cull, mark, or tag aquaculture stocks as required.
  • Clean and Maintain Enclosures: Clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures to ensure a healthy environment for marine plants.
  • Rake and Gather Marine Plants: Rake and gather marine plants in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport Marine Plants: Transport marine plants to processing plants in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Clean and Sort Shellfish: Clean, sort, and pack shellfish in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Grade and Weigh Stocks: Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks in a timely and accurate manner.
Work Environment

As an Aquaculture Support Worker, you will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with exposure to wet/damp conditions, odors, and physical demands. You will be required to work under pressure, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) on a regular basis.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. The language of work is English.
