Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Panel Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing work assignment, training, and leadership support for shop personnel. They will also assist in the development group in the qualification testing phase for new product designs, participate in all phases of the qualification process, including design reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide work assignment, training, and leadership support for shop personnel.
  • Assist the development group in the qualification testing phase for new product designs.
  • Participate in all phases of the qualification process, including design reviews.
  • Perform testing and commissioning procedures for electrical panels.
  • Test, repair, and maintain electrical equipment, including control circuits, transformers, motors, protective relays, and variable speed drives.
  • Install and maintain electrical control systems and industrial automation systems.
  • Perform basic electrical calculations for wire sizing and grounding.
  • Plan, track, and improve production metrics, including build hours, manpower plans, job costs, etc.
  • Receive drawings, detail drawings, and arrange drawings for packages to issue to teams.
  • Evaluate each team member periodically and discuss individually for self-improvements.
  • Provide manufacturability updates to drawings.
  • Ensure teams follow CSA 286 and UL 508A Industrial Control Panels Codes requirements and customer specifications per projects.
  • Manage shop inventory and provide POs to purchasing to ensure availability of parts stock to meet production build plans.
  • Assist in technical support and problem-solving for shop assembly in wiring and equipment installations and in production testing.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician or an Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma graduate in electrical engineering technologist or related discipline.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience with electrical panels and VFDs.
  • 3+ years' experience in Power Control/Conversion test equipment and/or electrical assembly.
  • Proficiency with the use of shop tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and resolve issues expeditiously to meet customer demand rates.
  • Proficiency with the use of shop tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to train and supervise shop personnel.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics, wiring, and one-line diagrams.
  • Computer skills with a fundamental understanding of Microsoft suite of programs.
