Position Title: Principal Geologist (QP), Resource Estimation, 15+ years

Your Role:

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing methods to ensure adherence to project timelines and coordinating activities with clients and technical teams. Furthermore, the role involves implementing essential planning, scheduling, and coordination requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee exploration databases for effective monitoring and modeling.
  2. Conduct geological and structural analyses of mining projects utilizing 3D software.
  3. Stay updated on advancements in mineral resource estimation techniques and reporting standards.
  4. Serve as a qualified person for sections of reports and technical studies (NI 43-101, preliminary, pre-feasibility, and feasibility).
  5. Assist in resource modeling and updates at client exploration sites or mining operations, providing solutions to encountered challenges.
  6. Lead quality audits of geological aspects for advanced exploration or development projects, ensuring the implementation of critical recommendations.

Training Component (15% of time):

  1. Organize and manage internal meetings with team members and external discussions with stakeholders or subcontractors.
  2. Facilitate the flow of information within the team, ensuring timely and relevant contributions from all members.

Business Development Component (5 to 10% of time):

  1. Build and nurture constructive business relationships during project execution to encourage repeat business.
  2. Advocate for the sale of cross-services to existing clients.
  3. Promote BBA's geological services both internally and externally.

Corporate Component (5 to 10% of time):

  1. Contribute to the development and execution of strategies for the Geological Group in collaboration with senior management.
  2. Engage in innovation, new service development, and communication initiatives for the Geological Group.
  3. Mentor and guide junior professionals within the group.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
  2. Membership in a professional association for geologists or engineers.
  3. A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including 8 years in resource estimation.
  4. Extensive practical experience in mineral resource estimation across various deposits, having served as a Qualified Person (QP) on multiple occasions.
  5. Proficiency in managing databases, QA/QC protocols, geostatistical analyses, and 2D and 3D modeling.
  6. Experience in budget establishment, estimation, and scheduling.
  7. Passion for mentoring, training, and sharing knowledge with team members.
  8. Proficient in specialized geological and mining modeling software such as Gems, Leapfrog, Surpac, Vulcan, Minesight, Datamine, etc.
  9. Strong aptitude for learning new software.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
