Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a key member of our MDRD Department, you will be responsible for the reprocessing of patient care equipment and instruments to ensure they are safe and ready for use in operating rooms and other patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process contaminated equipment and instruments, adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Operate and maintain washer-disinfectors, cart washers, and sonic cleaners to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Inspect and assemble equipment and instruments, ensuring they are properly prepared for use.
- Load and unload sterilizers, monitoring parameters to ensure accurate and effective sterilization.
- Perform biological testing on sterilization equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to hospital protocols and regulations.
- Successful completion of a Sterile Processing Certificate.
- Experience with medical terminology and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
- Minimum one year of hospital work experience in sterile processing techniques and preparation of medical supplies and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A competitive hourly rate of $ - $ per hour, plus % in lieu of benefits and vacation.
