Job Title: Respiratory Therapist I

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist I will provide general therapeutics, pulmonary function testing, and critical care services to patients in the Cardiopulmonary and Rehabilitative Services department at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general therapeutics and pulmonary function testing services to patients
  • Conduct critical care services, including airway management and mechanical ventilation
  • Participate in air and ground transports
  • Collaborate with the cardiac arrest team
  • Develop and implement patient care plans

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Current license with the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals
  • Registered member of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists in good standing
  • Successful completion of ACLS, NRP, and PALS or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment
  • Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence
  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
  • A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority

Working Conditions:

The Respiratory Therapist I will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients in various stages of illness or injury. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a commitment to safety and patient-centered care.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: CG-34 ($31.78-$35.40) plus Applicable Market Differential
  • 75 hours bi-weekly (Standby and Shift Work Required)
