Job Summary

As a key member of the Marriott team, the Chief Engineer - Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests. This role requires a strong focus on safety, security, and asset protection, as well as effective budget management and capital expenditure planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and logs, including maintenance schedules, equipment performance, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to guest concerns and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to Marriott's values and standards, and empowering team members to do the same.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering and maintenance, with a strong background in operations management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
