Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as an Engineering Manager at Marriott. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for managing all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the building, grounds, and physical plant are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise engineering staff, ensuring effective and efficient operations
  • Assist in managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems
  • Maintain and operate equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety
  • Establish and manage an effective rooms maintenance program
  • Ensure compliance with all engineering departmental policies, standards, and procedures
  • Manage department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • Select and order new equipment, supplies, and furnishings
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required
  • Recommending or arranging for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of engineering
Maintaining Property Standards
  • Maintain accurate logs and records as required
  • Assist in effectively planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
  • Handle guest problems and complaints effectively
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations
Managing Profitability
  • Help establish priorities for total property maintenance needs
  • Ensure on-going communication occurs in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives, awareness of expectations, and recognition of exemplary performance
Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognize the contributions of team members
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees
  • Ensure employees are treated fairly and equitably
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
  • Supervise employee's ability to execute departmental and property emergency procedures
  • Review employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns
  • Solicit employee feedback
  • Help ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related field
  • Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing
  • OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major, with 2 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related field
  • Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing
Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $77,000 to $90,000 annually.
