Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at Lakeland Animal Care Group as a Veterinary Assistant. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to animals in a supportive environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the handling, restraint, and care of animals during treatment and surgical procedures.
  • Support veterinarians before, during, and after surgical interventions.
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Carry out prescribed treatments and assist in laboratory research.
  • Perform routine dental procedures and assist in animal dentistry.
  • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
  • Administer wound care and bandaging.
