Job Title: Assistant Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor to join our faculty in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading a research program in the area of aging and rehabilitation, with a focus on developing foundational technologies that impact aging in one or more of the following areas: human interfacing devices and sensors, biomechanics, intelligent assistive technologies, robotics, or imaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead a world-class research program in aging and rehabilitation
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students
  • Provide service to the University and the broader academic and professional community
  • Collaborate with colleagues at the Centre for Aging SMART on centre initiatives
Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Registration or eligibility to register with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Demonstrated evidence of ability in teaching and scholarly activity
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse and divergent perspectives
