Job Title: Assistant Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor to join our faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will be a data scientist with expertise in developing and applying data science and advanced analytics to advance understanding of brain and psychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead an independent research program with potential to achieve international recognition in their field in the next five to ten years.
  • Develop and apply data science and advanced analytics to advance understanding of brain and psychiatric disorders.
  • Participate in teaching activities at the graduate and postgraduate level in the Department, including in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience and Masters Program in Translational Psychiatry.
  • Provide mentorship and training to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate learners.
  • Contribute to fostering an environment that promotes inclusivity and embodies values of respect, integrity, compassion, collaboration, and equity.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D., M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., with a strong background in neuroscience, mental health disorders, computer science and/or related fields.
  • Track record of success in collaborative and convergent research at the interface of these disciplines.
  • Ability to build and maintain high-quality and productive relationships.
