Accounting Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team at CB Canada. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including data entry, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Post financial information to journals and ledgers
  • Handle accounts receivable tasks, including processing daily invoices and credit, applying cash receipts, and collecting past due balances
  • Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
  • Produce statements and reports using a variety of sources
  • Classify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes
  • Support accounts payable, including vendor invoices and disbursement filing, and A/P invoice matching and filing
  • Assist with general accounting tasks, including G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of accounts receivable (AR)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian payroll
  • Receptionist duties experience preferred
  • Accounts payable (AP) experience preferred
  • AA or BS/BA in accounting or related field preferred
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • Candidates with spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized
  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
  • 1+ years of accounting experience required
