We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Analyst to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Population Health Observatory, you will play a critical role in supporting our vision, values, and purpose by providing expert information and data management services.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze regional health assessment and surveillance data to inform decision-making and support program planning, quality improvement, and performance measurement.
- Develop and maintain data collection and storage systems, including databases and spreadsheets, to ensure accurate and timely data management.
- Collaborate with epidemiologists and biostatisticians to analyze surveillance data and prepare reports, and advise on data quality and limitations.
- Perform quantitative data analysis using descriptive and statistical methodologies, statistical software, and coding to automate routine analyses.
- Support the preparation of data requests by extracting, linking, manipulating, analyzing, and summarizing data for internal and external partners.
- Develop and maintain geographic maps using ArcGIS, ArcCatalog, and other spatial software to support public health planning and evaluation, disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, and emergency preparedness.
- Monitor and ensure the quality and integrity of data from various public health information systems, and advise on data issues to ensure high-quality data for analysis and distribution.
- Plan system development, enhancement, and maintenance by evaluating existing and emerging data collection/analysis technology, and execute project plans for implementation.
- Prepare and maintain documentation and reports, including user guides, data collection procedure manuals, metadata, code documentation, data security policies, and data dictionaries.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Health Sciences, Statistics, or a related field, plus three to five years' recent related technical experience with health information and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of software applications, including GIS, R, SAS, Tableau, and D3.js, to analyze and visualize health information.
