Job Description

As a Data Analyst at FortisBC, you will play a crucial role in delivering renewable and non-renewable energy to over 1.5 million customers. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze information requirements, translating them into conceptual and logical data models. You will also develop and support IT infrastructure requirements for databases, including fall-over, backup, and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze information requirements and develop conceptual and logical data models
  • Develop and support IT infrastructure requirements for databases
  • Maintain data architecture and data models, coordinate implementation of model changes, and participate in the selection of tools and technologies
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Outsourcing Partners and Vendors to support the implementation and maintenance of physical databases
  • Develop and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) reporting based on Data Warehouse analysis
  • Address data ownership issues and participate in developing enterprise-wide data integration policies, standards, and guidelines
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent
  • Knowledge of business systems analysis, data models, and database design
  • Understanding of data architecture, conceptual design, and information systems technologies
  • Capability to manage complex database design projects
