As part of our strategic growth initiatives, we are in search of dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced Shift Leaders for our RoyalMount Montreal outlet. This role will report directly to the Store Manager, collaborating closely to cultivate a high-performing store team.
SHIFT LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION - PART TIME
The Part-Time Shift Leader (PTSL) is pivotal in driving sales performance within the organization. This individual will not only meet personal sales targets but also inspire and guide team members to achieve their own objectives. The Shift Leader is responsible for ensuring that customers enjoy a consistently high-quality experience while assisting management in fulfilling company goals and directives. Maintaining store standards, including visual merchandising and operational efficiency, is a key responsibility.
Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the Shift Leader must be available during peak and off-peak hours, including weekends and holidays. This flexibility allows the Shift Leader to manage store openings and closings, as well as provide coverage during busy periods for breaks and meetings as determined by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager. The Shift Leader sets the tone on the sales floor and exemplifies desired sales behaviors at all times. While scheduled hours may be up to 20 per week, they may increase to 30 hours based on business needs.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED
The Shift Leader must exhibit a range of competencies and skills that position them as a sales leader within the store and demonstrate the ability to provide direction effectively. Key competencies include:

- Results Orientation: Focused on achieving performance metrics and ensuring accountability.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the business with a customer-centric approach.
- Adaptability: Flexible and resilient, capable of managing uncertainty while maintaining composure.
The Shift Leader may also undertake additional responsibilities as required by the company and store leadership, particularly in relation to customer service.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences consistently.
- Implement company strategies effectively.
- Train and motivate team members to enhance sales and customer service capabilities.
- Lead sales and service initiatives during scheduled shifts.
- Assist customers with styling and maintain up-to-date fashion knowledge.
- Exhibit expert product knowledge and understanding of company policies and strategies.
- Address customer service issues in the absence of management.
- Provide feedback on individual and team performance to management.
- Ensure adherence to client service standards among associates.
- Support in onboarding and training new associates.
- Uphold company policies and procedures in the absence of management.
- Assist in managing payroll goals through effective floor coverage.
- Ensure associates receive scheduled breaks and meal periods.
- Perform opening and closing tasks as necessary.
- Oversee merchandise flow for the sales floor and backroom as directed.
- Lead or assist with visual merchandising and store presentation.
- Conduct POS transactions and execute management functions when required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous supervisory experience in a similar retail environment.
- Proven leadership abilities within a sales team.
- Track record of achieving individual sales targets.
- Ability to analyze sales reports and respond to business trends.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities within a team setting.
- Proficiency in standard office software applications.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Physical capability to handle merchandise and perform necessary tasks.
- Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills.
