In this Sales & Relationship Management role, we seek a driven, dynamic, and high-achieving Sales Engineer to promote Data Centre solutions across the B.C. region.

The ideal candidate will have prior customer-facing sales experience and be adept at meeting sales targets through the cultivation of self-generated business, leveraging existing relationships, and collaborating closely with the Schneider Electric sales team in the area.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven history in sales and new business development, possessing a deep understanding of the technical nuances of Power Continuity and Cooling, as well as the commercial channels involved in their procurement. A high-energy, diligent, target-oriented approach, coupled with a consultative 'value-based' selling methodology, is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize relationships to enhance preference for Schneider Electric Secure Power Solutions (Power, Cooling, Racks & DCIM).

• Forge new relationships to broaden the preference for Schneider Electric.

• Travel within the territory to support business development efforts.

• Operate independently to identify and develop new business opportunities, maintaining a strong pipeline and actively driving prospects toward closure.

• Manage all aspects of the prospect evaluation process, ensuring a seamless transition from sales to service delivery by applying your technical, project management, and business acumen.

• Address customer needs promptly by identifying suitable solutions, attending site visits, generating proposals, and finalizing orders.

• Assist in the preparation of technical specifications and submittal drawings, reviewing external specifications to identify opportunities for the products and solutions represented.

• Lead Tender submissions, RFQs/RFPs, in collaboration with Schneider Electric Sales, Inside Solution Engineers, Product Specialists, Engineering, and Accounting.

• Follow up on leads from new inquiries, building and nurturing long-term, profitable customer relationships.

• Maintain a high level of service for existing and new customers by responding quickly to quotation requests and providing after-sales support, as well as introducing new products where applicable.

• Educate, train, and mentor customers by participating in local trade shows, events, and delivering presentations to clients, including consulting engineers and contractors.

• Keep detailed sales reports regarding district activities and results to demonstrate alignment with business plans and objectives.

• Engage in turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer-related initiatives to meet deadlines and budgetary constraints.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the product lines represented by the company.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

• Adhere to the company's ethical and professional conduct policies.

• Periodic travel outside the primary region may be necessary.

Qualifications:

• A technical degree (e.g., BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent) with experience in designing mission-critical solutions is required. Alternatively, candidates may be a Red Seal Electrician or equivalent.

• Professional Engineering or Technician designation is an asset.

• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with Design/Consulting and Contracting firms involved in selling and installing IT solutions (UPS & Cooling Solutions, IT Racks & DCIM) is necessary.

• Strong relationships with distributors, contractors/installers, and end users are essential.

• A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a commitment to achieving targets are crucial.

• An innovative, proactive approach to generating new business through activity, referrals, and networking is required.

• Experience in engineering design related to commercial buildings and facilities is preferred.

• Familiarity with high availability facilities, Mechanical and Electrical Distribution design, and operations is beneficial.

• Knowledge of data centre design best practices is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ASHRAE TC9.9, TIA-942, and Uptime Institute Tier Ratings is a plus.

• Understanding of construction and procurement structures is beneficial.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, AutoCAD, or other CAD software is required.

• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, communications, security, mechanical, and electrical schematic drawings is essential.

• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills are necessary.

• Willingness to travel within Canada and occasionally to the United States is required.

• Commitment to continuous development of technical and interpersonal skills is expected.

• A valid Driver's License is required.

• Proficiency in English is essential, with French being a definite asset.

This position may involve travel for training purposes. A valid passport and driver's license are necessary. All required tools, including a laptop and cell phone, will be provided, along with a mileage plan for business use of a vehicle and an expense account for business-related costs.

If you believe your qualifications align with this description and you are an enthusiastic, innovative, and energetic individual, we would like to hear from you. Electro Federation Canada offers a challenging work environment with opportunities for growth.
