Diagnostic Medical Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at IWK Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze Patient Data: Conduct thorough analyses of patient data to identify potential health issues and develop effective treatment plans.
- Operate Imaging Equipment: Safely and effectively operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor Examinations: Continuously monitor examinations to ensure the quality and consistency of diagnostic images, making adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Train and Mentor: Train and mentor students or other medical sonographers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Record and Store Images: Record, store, and process scanned images using camera units connected to ultrasound equipment.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare examination reports for physicians, providing detailed information on patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Maintain Equipment: Regularly check ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation and make any necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Obstetrical and Gynecological Sonography: Provide diagnostic imaging services for obstetrical and gynecological patients, including fetal development and maternal health assessments.
- Pediatric Echocardiography: Conduct echocardiography exams for pediatric patients, providing detailed information on heart function and structure.
- Pediatric Neurosonology: Perform neurosonology exams for pediatric patients, assessing brain function and structure.
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
- Experience: Experience is an asset.
