About the Role

GARAGE CHAREST & FRÈRES INC. is seeking a skilled Truck and Transport Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, including adjustments, replacements, and inspections of parts and components.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with automotive systems, including engine, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of truck-trailer systems to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements to ensure their vehicles are running safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including problem identification and resolution.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a related field, such as automotive repair or heavy duty mechanics.
  • 1-7 months of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
