The Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant will provide support to the occupational therapist and physiotherapist in inpatient rehabilitation and complex transitional care units. The assistant will work under the supervision of the therapists to progress patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Support occupational therapists and physiotherapists in the delivery of patient care services
- Assist with patient assessments, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Implement treatment plans and provide patient education
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Graduate of a combined OT/PTA Certificate program from an accredited institution
- At least one year of experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Excellent patient care skills with medical, surgical, neurological, and geriatric caseloads
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
