About the Opportunity:The School of Nursing within Dalhousie's Faculty of Health is seeking applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, ongoing faculty position at the Instructor level, focusing on Emergency and/or Critical Care. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a Senior Instructor role.
Dalhousie University is a prominent institution with a community of 6,000 faculty and staff across 13 faculties, serving approximately 18,500 graduate and undergraduate students. As a member of Canada's U15 research-intensive group, Dalhousie plays a vital role in the intellectual, social, and economic advancement of the region. It is the largest university in Atlantic Canada, situated on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq in Halifax, a city known for its scenic coastal views and rich cultural diversity.

It is one of the largest faculties at Dalhousie, consisting of eight schools, one college, and one program, with over 200 faculty members, 80 staff members, and more than 3,000 students. Our students benefit from a wide array of health topics and learning experiences, reflecting the most programmatically diverse health faculty in Canada.

Our core values include striving for excellence, embedding equity and inclusion in all endeavors, embracing diverse health perspectives, caring for our community, collaborating with respect, and committing to sustainable growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as mentoring and advising graduate students. Teaching assignments will include courses in Emergency and/or Critical Care, alongside additional courses that align with the candidate's expertise and the School's needs. The courses will incorporate interprofessional education, in-person learning, and clinical simulation experiences.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, with a Master's degree in Nursing or another health discipline preferred; a PhD is considered an asset. Candidates must also be eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
The selected candidate is expected to actively engage with the School, Faculty, and University, participating in activities at local, national, and international levels to foster continuous improvement in teaching and learning. There is no expectation of a research workload associated with this position.
