Job Title: Fitness Instructor - Parent & Baby Yoga Instructor

Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking a qualified Fitness Instructor to lead Parent & Baby Yoga programs at the LeBrun Recreation Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing Parent & Baby Yoga programs for babies and infants up to 18 months old. This is a part-time position that requires a flexible work schedule, including morning classes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise sessions to ensure the safety of all participants
  • Develop and implement a specific program plan
  • Support persons with disabilities in programs when required
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants and patrons
  • Organize equipment and supplies and prepare for activities
  • Carry out emergency procedures and provide First Aid treatment as required
  • Carry out assigned duties in an effective and responsible manner
Qualifications:
  • Experience working or volunteering with the public in a recreational setting
  • Applicable fitness certification in group fitness/personal training
  • Experience working or volunteering instructing Yoga in a recreational setting
  • Current certification in Emergency First Aid and Level C CPR
  • Ability to complete a Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry check
Security Clearance Requirements:

Selected applicants must complete an employment screening check, including a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

Work Status:

Casual/Seasonal - September 2024 - June 2025

Hours of Work:

Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule, including 1 to 2 morning classes per week.

Salary:

$36.20 per hour (Non-Union)

LeBrun Recreation Centre (36 Holland Ave., Bedford)
