Job Title: Associate General Counsel

Emco Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Associate General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide strategic legal advice to our Profit Centres, National Support Centre, and Leadership Team.

About the Role

We are looking for a bilingual candidate with a strong background in corporate and commercial law. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts, leases, policies, and agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of topics, including leasing, commercial agreements, corporate governance, employment matters, and regulatory laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, leases, policies, and agreements.
  • Monitor, interpret, advise, and train on legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Align business objectives, programs, and systems with Emco's strategies, policies, Code of Ethics, and core values.
  • Build strong working relationships with Profit Centre Managers, Region Managers, and National Support Centre.
Requirements
  • Strong oral and written proficiency in French.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • In-house counsel experience is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and creative thinking.
