Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the company.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk management processes are aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, analyzing contracts, documents, statistics, reports, and market trends to identify potential risks.
- Evaluate and quantify risks, determining costs, legal requirements, environmental factors, and historical loss analysis.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on risk and insurance matters to internal stakeholders, including Operations and Corporate Services.
- Direct and manage outsourced service providers in insurance, finance, and legal areas.
- Participate in negotiations with owners and third parties to manage project financial risk.
- Develop innovative techniques to manage, mitigate, and finance risk costs.
- Train and educate others in the organization on risk awareness and management.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management and/or insurance.
- Strong leadership skills and results-oriented approach.
- Post-secondary degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or Law.
- Strong technical acumen in insurance and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed, results-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with emphasis on presentation, negotiation, and influencing others.
- Ability to understand complex business issues and lead a high-performance team.
