The Seniors Mental Health program is dedicated to providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for individuals, primarily those aged 65 and older, who are experiencing psychiatric conditions such as dementia, mood disorders, and thought disorders. Our mission is to support each patient in achieving their highest level of functioning, facilitating their transition back into the community. We offer specialized programming in areas including Mood and Thought Disorders, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Enrichment, and Specialized Dementia Care. Our services emphasize tailored treatment and medication guidance for seniors facing complex health challenges.

Position Overview:

As a Psychiatric Aide, you will play a vital role as a member of our multi-disciplinary team, addressing the personal care needs and comfort of patients in alignment with their care plans and the policies of our facility. Your responsibilities will include assisting nursing staff in delivering routine care that meets patients' hygiene, nutritional, mobility, recreational, and safety requirements. You will also support organized activities and programs designed to enhance patient well-being.

In this role, you will be tasked with observing and reporting on patients' moods, health status, and overall well-being. Effective communication with both patients and healthcare professionals is essential, as is your contribution to maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Additionally, you will assist in the overall support and upkeep of the work area.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12. A combination of relevant education and experience that meets the employer's standards will also be considered.
