About the Role

The Legal Operations Manager will play a critical role in driving the strategic direction of the General Counsel's Office. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing annual and long-term goals to align with the company's corporate strategy, tracking progress, and reporting on objectives.
  • Evolution of the technology and innovation roadmap, with a focus on enhancing maturity in key areas such as eBilling, workflow automation, document management, and knowledge management.
  • Partnering with procurement, accounts payable, and the General Counsel's Office to optimize vendor relationships, monitor forecasts versus actuals, and support process definition and training.
  • Development and management of the General Counsel's Office annual operating plan, including forecasting and accruals, and participation in strategic planning to determine future headcount and spend by practice and geography.
  • Developing maturity in data and analytics, particularly within the Commercial practice group, and creating dashboards for use by the Chief Legal Officer and GCO Leadership Team.
  • Collaboration with HR and Leadership to support hiring and onboarding initiatives, performance evaluation cadence, and other HR-related activities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience as a business/operations manager, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Deep experience with change management and agility practices.
  • A bias toward speed and execution, with the ability to keep pace with a wide variety of operational tasks.
  • Ability to influence and leverage relationships within and outside the General Counsel's Office.
  • Results-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills, and the ability to work with a high degree of independence and autonomy.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Executive presence, sound judgment, and discretion.

Education

A Bachelor's degree is required, with a JD not required. Project management, change management, and/or agility certifications are a plus.
