Cashier Job Description

Coach is a global fashion house that values excellence in customer service. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
  • Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Collect payments whether in cash or credit
  • Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
  • Redeem stamps and coupons
  • Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
  • Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
  • Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
  • Bag, box or gift-wrap packages
  • Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of previous retail experience (cashier/stock experience, sales)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (including the ability to use iPad/laptop, Mobile POS and Internet), utilize walkie talkie, understand and read price and product release sheets
  • Ability to execute at a fast pace, communicate effectively with customers and team, maneuver the sales floor, sales shelves, and stock room; climbing, bending, and kneeling are required
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and, at times, lift and carry product/cartons up to 50 pounds to process product shipment/transfers
  • Ability to meet Coach Scheduling & Availability Expectations, including ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays high retail traffic and sales days
