Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Planner to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and coordinating clinical equipment needs throughout the planning process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review clinical equipment lists to ensure they meet the needs of our patients and clients.
  • Work with project planning teams to establish and review equipment lists, ensuring they are incorporated into the planning and implementation phase of capital projects.
  • Assist with developing equipment budgets and the installation of clinical equipment.
  • Maintain a project equipment database to track and manage equipment requirements.
  • Develop strategies and processes to manage and minimize contractual and technical risk associated with equipment planning.
  • Conduct research to ensure evidence-based information is provided throughout the project planning process.
  • Develop project schedules and ensure activities and cost targets are met.
  • Identify and report equipment and equipment-related problems or deviations from the approved plan.
  • Consult with Clinical and Facilities Planners to ensure that equipment lists are accurate and meet user requirements.
  • Develop procurement strategies and confirm adequate funding is in place.
  • Work with external consultants to identify specific manufacturers and equipment models that meet established standards and user needs.
  • Manage risks and issues related to equipment to ensure project integrity.
  • Prepare status reports at project milestones that reflect progress, budget, risks, and issues.
Requirements
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, clinical engineering, biomedical technology, or health technology.
  • Five to seven years' recent, related experience with complex medical equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in collaboration/consultation with others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare delivery systems.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with others.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to persuade and provide leadership and guidance to others.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including related software applications.
