About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Internal Medicine at Surrey Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert clinical leadership and consultation to staff, students, and patients in medical, surgical, or specialized clinic areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise and consultation to staff, students, and patients in designated clinical areas.
  • Role model direct patient care skills to staff and students, and provide education at the point of care to ensure optimal care.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and intervene as needed to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to develop and support individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes of interventions.
  • Develop and revise education tools and plans to meet the learning needs of staff and students.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, and contribute to research and special projects.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Three years of recent related clinical experience in the designated clinical specialty area, including one year of education and/or leadership experience.
  • Completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
