About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician to join our team at WSP Global Inc. as a permanent full-time position. This role will provide accounting support for one of our group's companies, as well as participate in the global consolidation process at our head office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting support for one of our group's companies, including updating intangible asset files and recording corresponding journal entries.
  • Maintain monthly accounting for an investment entity in Excel, including impacts of fund movements from the tax and treasury teams.
  • Analyze figures submitted by regions in the consolidation system and ensure variations are entered in the correct fields.
  • Prepare the global employee headcount report, in summary and detailed versions, monthly, for submission to the HR team.
  • Track backlog and unfulfilled performance obligation variations and question regions as needed.
  • Record required journal entries for the presentation of cash and debts monthly based on the report received from the Treasury team.
  • Participate in preparing journal entries required for entities affected by internal reorganizations.
  • Prepare and submit surveys or information requests from Statistics Canada for WSP head office entities.
  • Contribute to preparing budget and forecast scenarios in the consolidation system.
Requirements
  • Technical degree in administration or accounting, and 5 years of experience; or Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience, or equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • Bilingual in English and French, spoken and written.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work on multiple files simultaneously.
  • Results-oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Versatility and autonomy, comfortable in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to understand the complex IT environment of our consolidation system.
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle Horizon ERP systems (an asset).
