Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess a Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline and have a strong understanding of mental health and addiction issues.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent experience in a related field, with a focus on substance misuse assessments, treatment methodologies, and intervention strategies. They will also have knowledge of applicable legislation, such as Mental Health and Child Protection legislation, and be familiar with available programs and services in the community.

In addition to their technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement treatment plans for clients with mental health and addiction issues
  • Conduct assessments and provide interventions to support client recovery
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in the field of mental health and addiction

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and available programs and services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
