Job Title: Training and Compliance Officer

Algonquin College is seeking a highly skilled Training and Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Management Department, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering training programs to support the safety and compliance of our staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards and report any deviations from safety standards.
  • Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on external contractor compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist with safety and security initiatives, including evacuation drills and emergency response planning.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two-year diploma in a related field, such as Occupational Health and Safety or Applied Disaster and Emergency Studies.
  • Minimum three years of progressive experience as a health, safety, and security professional, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Technical writing and training development skills.
  • Computer skills, including experience with Archibus or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
