About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Blue Night Transport Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and handled.
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of our vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Pre-Trip, En Route, and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the safety and security of our vehicles and cargo.
  • Communication and Record Keeping: Receive and relay information to our central dispatch team, and maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security and Handling: Ensure the safety and security of our cargo, including tarping and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation, including bills of lading, driver logbooks, and inspection reports, to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Requirements
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a long-haul truck driver is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Possess strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
