About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Ready to Haul Transportation Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Execution

Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS systems, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Team Driving

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Loading and Unloading

Load and unload goods, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring the security of cargo.

Vehicle Maintenance

Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of vehicle maintenance and performing preventive maintenance tasks.

Communication and Record-Keeping

Receive and relay information to central dispatch, recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.

Cargo Security

Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo during transportation.

Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses

Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Work Environment

Attention to detail, ability to work in a repetitive task environment, and sitting for extended periods.

Personal Qualities

Reliability and ability to work effectively as a team player.

Experience

Experience is an asset, with a preference for candidates with a permanent employment history.

Language and Work Schedule

Fluency in English, with a work schedule of 40 to 70 hours per week.
