Job Summary:

The Memorial University is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for purchasing related duties for the university.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Strategic Buyers to assist with managing and monitoring purchase orders, validating delivery schedules;
  • Handle purchase order issues including back orders;
  • Ensure efficient and effective importing and exporting of goods through customs;
  • Create commodity codes, review the open purchase order report;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience (1-3 years) in procurement and related clerical work;
  • Completion of a three-year accounting program;
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Banner Finance Accounting System would be an asset.
