The Senior Project Management Office Leader is pivotal in steering a proficient team of experienced project managers and ensuring the successful execution of a varied project portfolio within a sophisticated, innovative, and matrixed environment. This role is essential in achieving our strategic goals by collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, positioning us as a 'Leading Health Solutions Partner'.

This leader guarantees that initiatives are aligned with business objectives, oversees teams, and communicates outcomes to a wide range of stakeholders.

Our Project Management Office is distinct; comprising a robust team of over 18 project managers, we provide opportunities for collaboration with leadership and the chance to influence transformation within a healthcare organization that drives its strategic vision through technology.

This strategic vision encompasses a project portfolio that includes transformational initiatives, innovative enhancements, lifecycle management, and operational support within a complex technological framework.

The Senior Project Management Office Leader supervises a team of up to 10 senior professionals, offering guidance and mentorship to support performance management, career advancement, succession planning, and ongoing professional development.

Your exceptional communication, facilitation, and project management skills will be instrumental in refining our processes, proactively addressing key stakeholder impacts, and effectively integrating project management with project delivery and governance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance project delivery to ensure optimal performance by providing clear purpose, direction, and motivation.

As a Senior Project Management Office Leader, you will support daily operations while fostering the continued growth and maturity of our project delivery capabilities.

You will lead projects throughout their entire lifecycle and possess advanced skills to inspire fellow project management professionals through effective communication and a high degree of emotional intelligence.

Additionally, you will gain in-depth knowledge of our business and collaborate with a team of exceptional individuals to deliver exciting projects across various platforms.

Key Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Project Management with proven leadership in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple industries and methodologies.
  • 3+ years of direct leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, hiring, and project delivery responsibilities for a team of senior project management professionals.
  • Practical experience in enhancing project management frameworks aligned with best practices for project delivery.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and producing a variety of portfolio reporting artifacts for diverse audiences, including Executive Leadership.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Additional Requirements:

Full knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and frameworks, with expertise in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery methodologies. Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio, Office Suite, Jira, etc.).

Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking to manage competing priorities.

Demonstrated success in stakeholder management, risk management, and change management, engaging with multiple leadership levels in a complex matrix project environment.

Proficient understanding of project governance models for complex, multi-stream initiatives.

Skills in performance and career management, coaching, training, and employee development, as well as problem-solving and conflict resolution.


Planning & Execution:

Ensures the project management team delivers in accordance with established frameworks and processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Reviews the creation and delivery of essential project artifacts (project management plans, schedules, estimates, charters, risks, change requests, etc.) and provides constructive feedback to enhance quality and improve overall project success.


Monitoring & Control:

Offers oversight and proactive analysis to track performance against KPIs and adherence to financial management processes.

Monitors and reports on project portfolio status, dependencies, issues, and risks, delivering accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership.


Resource & Stakeholder Management:

Manages staff allocations to meet organizational priorities and needs.

Identifies opportunities for improvement to enhance project delivery by implementing lessons learned from past projects.


Language Requirements:
English proficiency; bilingualism is preferred.
