POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Operations Team within the Transportation Group. This position is primarily tasked with executing month-end financial reporting processes with precision and efficiency. As a vital team member, you will demonstrate your ability to manage detailed financial information while contributing to continuous process enhancements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure alignment of goals and outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the accurate and timely execution of month-end procedures, including invoice processing, cost allocations, and accruals.
  • Develop checks and balances within the month-end process to guarantee reporting accuracy and completeness.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and update month-end reporting procedures accordingly.
  • Conduct timely balance sheet account reconciliations, analyze discrepancies, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform reconciliations between various billing systems and the ERP system to maintain data integrity.
  • Engage in financial analysis related to ongoing financial operations.
  • Manage TMS Interface Batches reconciliations and postings.
  • Participate in system implementation and migration initiatives.
  • Assist in preparations for year-end audits.
  • Support external customer reporting and the budgeting and forecasting processes.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency with ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.
  • Experience with TMS systems is beneficial.
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in general accounting and financial analysis.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA designation in progress is preferred.
