Job Title: Safety & Security Monitor

At NL Health Services - Labrador-Grenfell Zone, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Safety & Security Monitor. This position is a critical part of our healthcare team, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about providing a safe and secure environment for our clients, families, and staff.

Job Summary:

The Safety & Security Monitor will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide a high standard of care to clients at the Labrador Health Centre. This includes ensuring a safe environment, reporting any changes or concerns, and maintaining strict confidentiality on all matters related to the client.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain reports on client behavior and plan of care, specifically relating to safety and security issues.
  • Monitor client behavior related to safety and security, and report any changes or concerns.
  • Maintain visual observation of the client at all times, ensuring the client is never left unattended.
  • Respond to client needs and requests in consultation with the assigned nurse.
  • Document according to organizational policies and unit guidelines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters related to the client.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalency.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • Successful completion of Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVIC) or willingness to complete within a designated timeframe.
  • Successful completion of Mosby's Suite Suicide Assessment and Precautions or willingness to complete within a designated timeframe.
  • A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct.
Working Conditions:

This is a temporary call-in position with variable shifts and hours. The successful applicant will be required to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
