Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Advisor to join our team at the Good Spirit School Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing human resource services in support of instructional and non-instructional staff, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, employee and labour relations, attendance management, workplace accommodation, reporting, and general HR support.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Superintendent of Human Resources to support recruitment and retention across all educational and corporate services.
  2. Administer and monitor absence management, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and administrative procedures.
  3. Participate in the creation of workplace accommodations and gradual return to work programs, promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.
  4. Provide recruitment and onboarding services, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  5. Participate in workplace investigations, maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
  6. Work closely with hiring managers and Superintendents to ensure staff are meeting job expectations through employee performance management processes and policies.
  7. Assist in evaluating and applying corrective disciplinary measures when necessary, upholding the division's code of conduct.
  8. Maintain a close working relationship with the leadership of 4 collective groups and out-of-scope personnel, fostering positive labour relations.
  9. Assist in administering and updating the Human Resource Information System, ensuring accurate and timely data management.
  10. Stay knowledgeable of administrative procedures and collective bargaining agreements, applying policies appropriately to support the division's goals.
  11. Edit job descriptions as applicable, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  12. Create employment contracts occasionally, adhering to divisional policies and procedures.
  13. Analyze and create HR-related metrics, providing insights to inform decision-making.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma in Human Resources Management, Organizational Management, or equivalent, with 3-5 years of related human resources experience. A CPHR designation is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

This is an out-of-scope position based on a 12-month calendar, with an office location at the Good Spirit Education Complex. A partial work-from-home arrangement may be considered. The division office is located in Yorkton, a growing community with a range of recreational opportunities.
