Job Summary

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a skilled Career Services Specialist to provide support for the delivery of programs and services throughout the province. As a Career Services Specialist, you will work with clients to determine their needs and refer them to appropriate resources, providing information on training and income support programs, and assisting clients with multimedia self-help tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage calls and emails through the provincial call center phone line;
  • Interview clients to determine their needs and refer them to appropriate resources;
  • Provide information on training and income support programs, and assist clients with multimedia self-help tools;
  • Plan, develop, facilitate, and deliver workshops, and presentations, and provide information to help clients develop their job search skills, prepare resumes, and interview techniques;
  • Have expertise in data entry to verify and enter client registrations;
  • A proactive attitude towards technology.

Requirements

  • Plan, prioritize, and balance diverse and conflicting workload pressures taking into consideration task complexity, frequent interruptions, and deadlines;
  • Have the ability to use problem-solving and decision-making skills to ensure the appropriate course of action;
  • Be positive, client-focused, and flexible to work in a diverse cultural environment;
  • Accurately enter, format, and access data using computer software programs;
  • Have the ability to be discreet, reliable, and able to exercise sound judgment as you interact with a diverse community;
  • Be an enthusiastic team player who tactfully and respectfully supports colleagues to promote a positive work environment;
  • Have a working knowledge of local and provincial labour market trends and be able to identify and assess relevant data, trends, and opportunities and consider a variety of options to determine and implement an appropriate course of action;
  • Be proficient and knowledgeable of applicable computer hardware and software process applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, database, and operating systems, presentation software, and online searches.

Preferred Qualifications
