We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Adjuster to join our team at SGI. As an Insurance Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling moderately complex auto insurance claims.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and negotiate claims in a fair and consistent manner.
- Collect and review claims information to determine vehicle damage and values.
- Interpret applicable laws, regulations, and policy coverages.
- Negotiate claims settlements.
- Administer claims payments and settlements.
- Recognize and pursue subrogation or salvage opportunities.
- Monitor and update customers at various stages of the claim and repair processes.
- Maintain updated electronic detailed notes.
- Arrange for the dispatch of vehicle damage appraisers or independent adjusters when required.
- Confirm coverage in accordance with the Ontario automobile policy.
- Monitor and maintain control of expenses such as rental, towing, and storage.
- A two-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business.
- 2-4 years' experience in a technical insurance role.
- Knowledge of Ontario's automobile insurance legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of automobile insurance policy wording.
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of insurance and techniques related to the settlement of claims.
- Skilled in determining actual cash values, depreciation, and repair and replacement costs for vehicles.
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.
- Verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation abilities, and organizational skills.
