Senior Engineer - DWDM Optical Communication Systems

At Huawei, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge DWDM optical communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Explore and Optimize DWDM Systems: Investigate and analyze DWDM optical communication systems, including system design, performance optimization, and channel impairment modeling.
  2. Characterize Device Impairments: Characterize device impairments in high-speed coherent transceivers and design hardware impairment compensation algorithms in ASIC DSP chips.
  3. Collaborate with Design Teams: Work closely with DSP and ASIC design teams to provide solutions to improve the performance of coherent transceivers and systems.
  4. Analyze Channel Impairments: Analyze channel impairments (dispersion, polarization, e/o hardware, etc.) and develop end-to-end optimization solutions.

Requirements:

  1. Education: PhD/Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or Physics.
  2. Simulation and Modeling Experience: Experience in simulation and modeling of OE components and optical fiber communications.
  3. Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and Julia.
  4. Experimental Experience: Hands-on experimental experience and skills in optical system testing, real-time and offline performance characterization for transponders.
  5. Digital Signal Processing and Information Theory: Knowledge of digital signal processing and information theory.
  6. Industrial Experience: Industrial experience in optical communication systems is an asset.
  7. Machine Learning: Knowledge of Machine Learning is an asset.
