Manager of Assurance Services

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a crucial link between partners and junior staff, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform technical research, developing and documenting planning recommendations to drive business growth and excellence.
  • Research issues and prepare memoranda to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Identify client service opportunities and develop strategies to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Participate in special engagements, leveraging expertise to deliver exceptional results and exceed client expectations.
  • Enhance and develop community relationships and networks, fostering a positive reputation for Baker Tilly Canada.
  • Manage staff in the assurance and owner-managed client service group, providing daily guidance and coaching to develop their knowledge and skills.
  • Support and mentor firm staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Prepare and present technical sessions for staff, sharing expertise and best practices to drive business success.
  • Address and assess the firm's quality control, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a progressive public accounting firm and 2 years of that with your CPA designation and significant experience in assurance-related services.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Canadian Assurance Standards.
  • The ability to provide value-added service to our clients, driving business growth and excellence.
  • Good technical knowledge in personal and basic corporate income tax.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
