We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our dynamic team at Essence of Spice Indian Restaurant Inc.. This role requires a passion for East Indian cuisine and the ability to create authentic dishes that delight our customers.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program, or a non-university certificate or diploma, lasting between 1 to 2 years.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
The position is based in a fast-paced restaurant setting where teamwork and collaboration are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage special events to enhance customer experience.
- Design and plan menus while estimating food requirements for successful execution.
- Order and manage kitchen supplies and food inventory.
- Prepare and cook a variety of complete meals and individual dishes.
- Conduct inspections of kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
- Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work areas.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Safe Food Handling certificate is mandatory.
Specialization in East Indian cuisine is essential for this role.
