Physician Lead

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Physician Lead to support the implementation of the One Person One Record (OPOR) initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the institutional efforts to build, validate, and optimize the physician and advanced practice provider components of the province-wide Clinical Information System (CIS).
Key Responsibilities- Support OPOR readiness and clinical practice standardization across the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) and IWK Health.
- Engage patient care providers to contribute to the effective use of the CIS.
- Assist in creating clinical protocols, standardization, and metrics of clinical documentation to facilitate successful adoption of clinical applications.
- Serve as a practicing physician leader who routinely uses clinical information systems for patient care.
- The Physician Lead will be assigned by service area.
- Active member of the Provincial Advisory Committee (PAC).
- Active participant in departmental/network, service area meetings as OPOR representative.
- Participate in Physician Needs Assessment(s) for clinical area.
- Identify and engage with champions and subject matter experts.
- Directly liaise with physicians with questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Medical Degree required.
- Licensed physician with current practice required.
- Informatics experience preferred.
