Lead Clinical Systems Analyst

In a collaborative environment focused on client service, the Lead Clinical Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in the planning, stakeholder engagement, analysis, design, and implementation of innovative clinical application features, ensuring adherence to budgetary and time constraints.
This position is responsible for spearheading enhancements to current clinical applications, guaranteeing that systems effectively address user needs through ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
The Analyst will assess, refine, and enhance both internal and external business processes in partnership with stakeholders, technical staff, and vendors. Additionally, the role involves planning, developing, and evaluating educational programs tailored to the learning requirements of clinical computer users. In conjunction with fellow team members, the Analyst will lead or participate in the testing of new or existing functionalities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates process analysis sessions and feasibility studies with end users and vendors to ascertain and evaluate user requirements.
- Creates alternatives and recommendations, including the scope and implications of applying new or existing functionalities and processes within the clinical sector.
- Assists in the formulation of project charters, work plans, task sequencing, and timelines.
- Develops comprehensive project plans, resource requirements, timelines, and cost estimates from feasibility through to operational handoff, utilizing a thorough understanding of business processes and interdependencies.
- Oversees and directs assigned project resources, operational support staff, and contract personnel by delegating tasks, establishing priorities, and reallocating work as necessary; collaborates with management to ensure staff receive adequate training.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to staff in areas such as clinical stakeholder engagement, project coordination, workflow analysis, application design, testing, implementation, and training.
- Participates in the preparation of RFI/RFP documentation and engages in vendor evaluation and selection processes as required.
- Works collaboratively with users to implement change management techniques, defining and documenting changes in user processes, testing plans, and detailed application documentation.
- Ensures the development, documentation, and execution of comprehensive test plans, including unit, end-to-end, integration, and volume testing.
- Creates training and user orientation strategies, training materials, quick reference guides, and delivery methods, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure consistency with organizational standards.
- Develops communication strategies and materials for the implementation of new or modified applications.
- Provides advanced end-user application support, including troubleshooting, identifying options, and implementing effective solutions; maintains communication with users and IT personnel, documenting incidents and providing remedial education.
- Contributes to the development of policies and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date technical and business skills through research, vendor meetings, and networking with external agencies.
- Ensures a safe and healthy workplace for all stakeholders through effective orientation, training, promotion, and monitoring of safe work practices.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science or Health Informatics, with four years of recent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in interpersonal relations.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Competence in programming across various languages.
- Ability to operate related technical equipment.
